Blinds

Mini-blinds are a type of blind that are available in a wide range of colors. They are lightweight and durable. Standard blinds are wider, with two to three inch vanes. They are perfect for deep windows, and have a classic feel.
Natural wood blinds are warm and rich in rooms ranging from casual to traditional. There are many types of decorative tapes to hide the cords. There are also wood-core blinds coated with vinyl, as well as synthetics that have a wooden appearance. There are many choices available that can work with your weather conditions, window size, and your personal style.
In determining the perfect blinds for your home, think about whether you want the window blinds to blend in with the walls in your home or if you would prefer them to match the wood furniture in the room. If you have dark oak furniture, you may want dark oak wood blinds to match your pieces. On the other hand, you may want the wood blinds to blend in with your wall color, thus attracting the eye to other objects in the room (a fireplace, paintings and/or sculptures).

The next decision is the width of the slats of the blinds. Narrow slats make the window blinds less noticeable and allow the blinds to blend in well with the walls. If you would like to focus on other points in the room, narrow slats would be an ideal choice. Wider slats, a less traditional look, make the window blinds appear more noticeable. If you wanted to make a statement, you could bring color into the mix, and match them with your wooden furniture or other points in the room, as previously mentioned (for instance, mahogany-colored wide slats would bring out the mahogany furniture in a room). Blinds with wider slats work well on large windows with a view. They also work very well with vertical blinds.
If a room has moisture, such as a bathroom or small kitchen area, there are faux wood blinds which can give the appearance of wood but will be able to weather extreme conditions. Wood blinds that are natural are not a good idea for these types of rooms, as moisture will affect the wood and potentially destroy it. Many vertical blinds have a wand control which, through movement of the wand, rotates the vanes and moves them back and forth along the head rail, in addition to opening and closing them.

When you are looking at options for wide windows or doors, vertical blinds can be a wonderful choice. Vertical blinds are available in a variety of materials, ranging from fabric to aluminum. Vertical blinds are an ideal window treatment for patio doors, allowing the amount of light distributed into the home to be adjusted and the blinds to easily slide aside when venturing outdoors and enjoying the season outside. These blinds CT can also be utilized for windows that are wider than their height, and sliding windows of any size at all.
Venetian blinds are another option. These blinds have either horizontal or vertical slats, which are able to rotate up to 180 degrees. When these slats align, no light emerges. Venetian blinds either roll up (with horizontal slats), or can be pulled aside (with vertical slats). When the blinds are pulled up/away from the window, then you have total visibility outside. When the blinds are drawn but the slats are left open, light is partially let in but the visibility is somewhat lessened. As you open the Venetian blinds, the more light that is allowed inside, the more that you can see outside of your home.
